More About James: |
As your therapist my goal is to help you become the
person you want to be. I offer an approach that promotes wellness and
personal development within a psychodynamic framework. My emphasis on
here and now issues helps transform mental and emotional pain into
sources of strength and self-knowledge. Mental health care often focuses
on symptoms, syndromes and disorders. I treat eths sort of distress as
an opportunity to find ways to change for the better. This is a
traditional style and has proven to bring about lasting, positive
changes. I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology,
an MA in counseling Psychology, and ten years of experience helping
children and adults with a broad range of psychological and emotional
issues. I have two areas of specialization: First, helping children and
adolescents with behavior problems, mood disturbances, and interpersonal
conflict. Related issues include ADHD, Adoption, Depression, Anxiety,
Abuse, Family Changes, and Substance Abuse. Second, I specialize in
helping adults with the same issues, particularly as they relate to
periods of life transition. |
